So...finally have these things going...hopefully I'm using them correctly
A few thoughts on Valentine’s Day
February 15, 2014
Today is a very special day for most people. It’s a day to celebrate the people we love and show our appreciation for having them in our lives. The focus of today’s post is my thoughts and observations on this subject and why it’s so much more important than allot of people allow it to be (Hang on folks, it’s about to get super cheesy).
Contrary to what every store and commercial in America would have you believe, Valentine’s Day is not about buying roses, or cards or expensive bottles of champagne. It’s about articulating the things that you appreciate about your loved ones, and in particular your significant other. I am a firm believer that this is really something that should be done every day; Valentine’s Day should simply be a time to punctuate that. Even if you can’t afford a fancy dinner or sparkly jewelry, do something that you normally wouldn’t that is just for the one you love. Make it something memorable, and make it something you know will have a special meaning for her (or him, you can do this stuff too ladies your dude will appreciate it more than he will let on).
To those of you with someone to celebrate in your life, please make sure that you do just that today, and every day thereafter. Even if it’s just to say “you’re pretty awesome” let them know that they are precious to you. If you are lucky enough to have someone who says those things back to you, do whatever you have to in order to keep that alive. Don’t take it for granted, you never know when it will be gone. I hope all of you have someone who will show you that you are the most important person in their life. There is nothing more important than love in this world, nothing. Cheers everyone.
