So...finally have these things going...hopefully I'm using them correctly
Brewery of the Week: Copper Kettle Brewing Company
March 5, 2014
It is always refreshing to find a local business that makes the people in its community a priority. This is respectable in all business but downright amazing when it comes to a brewery. Such is the case with Copper Kettle Brewing, which is not only succeeding in establishing itself as part of the neighborhood, but brewing damn good beer in the process.
The beer at Copper Kettle is a good mix of classic brews and unique creations you won’t find anywhere else. One of their signature pints is the Mexican Chocolate Stout which is the only beer brewed with chili’s that I actually enjoy (most chili beers I’ve had taste a bit like a mouthful of the juice from a jalapeno jar). The Bavarian Helles is also quite good and shows just how proficient the guys at Copper Kettle are at brewing beers in the lager family. I also highly recommend making it to the Firkin’ Wednesday’s or keeping an eye on their Twitter and Facebook for opportunities to try one of their unique cask creations; I was fortunate enough to try the English Old Ale with Tahitian Vanilla on Sunday as an example and it was fan-freakin-tastic.
As seems to be the case with many of the best breweries in Denver, this highpoint in the local beer scene can be found in an unassuming business complex that could be easily missed unless you know where to look. The taproom is relatively small but lends itself to getting to know the other people who are there which is usually a positive experience (unless you end up sitting next to someone in sweatpants with a picture of their cat on their shirt, in that case pretend you only speak Swedish and find a new seat). Copper Kettle also does a great job of having events at the brewery that support good causes in their “Pints for a Purpose” each Tuesday as well as other fun times like the walking Dead screenings that have a feeling of getting together with good friends at someone’s house. Copper Kettle is another place that I can’t give more praise; I plan to be back their soon and I hope to see you all down there as well.
