So...finally have these things going...hopefully I'm using them correctly
January Contest: Tappa Tappa Tappa…..
January 8, 2015
I have been collecting allot of hobbies over the past year, some of which are more productive than others. Of course brewing will always be my go to pass time, but something that is quickly coming up as a second favorite is wood working. Much like making beer, the hard work and patience involved with building something from scratch yields something tangible that can be enjoyed (unless you screw up wicked bad….I’ll admit to building a “Portlandia” style chair when I first started….). There are several projects on my list of soon-to-be creations, and topping that list are new tap handles for the bar in my basement. I’ve already begun work on my first with some results I am actually proud of, and have some ideas for a few other pieces of flare to adorn my taps. Since these are going to be the centerpiece of my bar, I thought it might be fun to have one of you lucky folks get one as well (even if you don’t have a bar, there are plenty of other uses for a blunt piece of wood… ). So, open a good beer and let’s get down to how you can win this one of a kind piece of awesome:
On one post each week, I will post a question related to draft/keg related stuff. These will all be fairly easy, but they won’t be posted consistently so you will need to keep an eye out for when they are at the bottom of a particular entry.
I will also be posting the occasional picture of the tap handle I will be giving away as it is being made, so you’ll know you’re not just getting a block of balsa wood (trust me, it’s going to be spiffy)
On Saturday the 31st, the first person to send me a full list of answers gets the custom tap handle, and a pint at a local brewery of your choice! Don’t worry, I will post plenty of reminders on the blog and Twitter and what not….
I’m really looking forward to making this month’s prize, and just as excited to give it to one of you! Of course, the only way to win is to read the blog this month (don’t mind shameless self-promotion right there folks) so keep on reading and I’ll see one of you on February 1st. Cheers everyone!
