So...finally have these things going...hopefully I'm using them correctly
It’s the Most Important Day of the Year…..
April 8, 2015
I genuinely considered calling into work today given the significance it holds. There are few holidays out there as important as today (Maybe May 4th is up there…..think about it) and it’s important that we all take a moment to appreciate it. Yes, National Beer Day is far too underappreciated and unknown by the masses and it is high time that we all fix that.
You read that right, I just used a “we” as in y’all and I. Given that today is for the appreciation of all things beer, I am going to make this one short so we can all get back to doing just that. Most of my favorite holiday memories involve reminiscing with the people I care about over a drink or two so let’s do just that.
You might think that I am about to share something tacky about some fond memory of brewing my own beer but the thought that comes to mind is actually a bit of a bragging right. One of my more fond recollections involving beer was from a tour of New Belgium’s brewery (and wonderland of all things beer) The Mothership. Towards the end of the tour at the bottling section of the facility, the tour guide asked who knew what a Gruit was. This made my hand shoot up faster than Lisa Simpson in math class and after giving what was probably an overly detailed answer our guide pulled a freshly capped bottle off of the assembly line and presented it to me. It may not have been a New Belgium cruiser but it was still one of the coolest things that could have happened while I was there.
Alright folks, now it’s your turn. Use them interwebs you are on right now to share a favorite beer memory of your own with me on the social media. It can be funny, cheesy, sentimental, whatever! Now, pour a pint share a story and enjoy the rest of your National Beer Day. Cheers everyone!
